My own dear precious one,
I now would offer my most thankful congratulations to you, thankful to the all good preserver and great deliverer for his care and his blesing and also my prayer that his mercy may be continued to you and all yours, that the little jewel which has been added to the number before bestowed may with them be dedicated to him, in baptism. while you and our dear Johnny may acknowledge with greatful hearts the hand of the soveriegn giver, we all owe Him our hearts, and we owe Him the remainder of our time, for we are depending on Him for all our future good, as well indebted to Him for all we have enjoyed in the time past, and whether we have few days or many let us devote them to God, and be more worthy of his favor. I have had great anxiety about you, as you may suppose, but I hope you are still improving, tell Johnny to write also aunt Marion. I hope my letters have been recieved. I have nothing like news to tell you, and only write to gratify my self, or to let ou know we are all well.
Sami, has gone up to Claiborne's this morning. he left at day on a fishing frollic several young gentlemen were to be there. Mr Jackson has gone out a few minutes since, and I cannot be more pleasantly employed during their absence than in communitacting my anxieties, hopes and fears to my dearest child, to gether with other little matters which may be pleased to drop from the point of my pen.
We are still very comfortable here although much warmer than it has been. still we have a fine breeze most of the time and no
