The remaining three artists will be featured at Serenity, located at 126 Main in the same building as McDonald?s Studio. They include Lucille Luke, Barbara Brodtmann and Jeanne Kruse Warner. Jerry Dixon, owner of Serenity, said the event is designed to show the public only a few of the many artists in Bay St. Louis. ?For this first one, we want to spotlight 12 of the people we knew of; there are a lot more artists out there and we want them to come out and be seen,? said Dixon, who hopes similar studio tours can be arranged as an annual or seasonal event. ?People will get to actually go into the studios and see art in progress,? he added. ?They?ll be able to talk to the artists about the creative process.? Dixon said he knows of no other programs in the area which feature art in progress rather than completed works. ?Bay St. Louis is an artists? community and we?re beginning to recognize it. It always has been one; artists have been coming here for years, but there hasn?t been anything to put the artists in Bay St. Louis, Dixon learned something else which has helped inspire his wish to make the public more aware of the various kinds of talents he-has found here. .. ?The artists here are always giving. They are quick ?o donate ? their work or their talentsiwhen help is needed,? he said. ?Art comes from the heart and giving is a part of that.? i The types of art being fea- j tured include photography, stained glass, basketry and var- Fiedler, whose primary focus in ; the architectural and natural j beauty of Bay St. Louis.
