U.S.S. MARINE SERPENT (AP-202) - The Marine Serpent transported us from Augusan, Mindanao, Philippine Islands to San Francisco, California after our defeat of the Japanese. The Marine Serpent entered the National Defense Reserve Fleet and her name was struck from the Navy List on 17 August 1955. She was sold and named "Merchant Galveston" in 1968. Her subsequent fate is unknown.
