2.	HOME OF JERRY AND ANNETTE O’KEEFE, 510 Beach Blvd. In 1958 the O’Keefes acquired from Mrs. Evelyn Thompson and her sister, Mrs. Teen Lancaster, a two story wooden frame home located, at that time, in the 700 block of East Beach Blvd., opposite Deer Island. The initial remodeling work included the addition of a large living room to the front, a large den to the rear, the restoration of the solid core cypress columns on the front porch, a new French provincial roofline and veneering the exterior with a rosy lavendar hued brick. So successful was the restoration that it was featured in HOME MODERNIZING GUIDE. In 1969 Hurricane Camille destroyed everything below the second story. . . which survived. Due to the almost complete destruction, many changes were made to the original floor plan of the house. Of special interest is the octagon shaped sitting room (added to the master bedroom) which is surrounded with windows and affords a beautiful outdoor feeling plus a view of both the beach and Deer Island. 3.	TULLIS-TOLEDANO MANOR, East Beach. Built by Christoval and Matilda Toledano cira 1856, the rich detail, entranceway and dormers enhanced one of Biloxi’s most striking early mansions. Owned by the City of Biloxi by purchase from the TUllis family after Hurricane Camille, the house has been restored and furnished in period, and is operated in conjunction with the TUllis Board as an historical attraction. TUllis annually hosts the “Ethnic Trees of Christmas” and is part of Christmas on the Water for Biloxi’s spectacular Christmas Weekend. The spacious grounds still contain some of Biloxi’s legendary live oaks. (Note “Councillor Oak” wearing the yellow ribbon and read its story in the Legendary Live Oaks bulletin). Hostesses today are The Belles of Beauvoir, members of Sunkist, and Acacia Garden Clubs.

JEAN BAPTISTE CARQUOTTE HOUSE (OLD BRICK HOUSE)
- 622 Bayview. The oldest brick house in Biloxi, built on a Spanish Land Grant site running from the Bay to the Front Beach confirmed in 1786 to Jean Baptiste Carquotte, is made of hand-made brick probably from the brick-mill on the premises noted in a 1722 map, (also where many of the New Orleans’ French Quarter buildings obtained their brick).
Rescued from oblivion by the Biloxi Council of Garden Clubs formed to rehabilitate this Biloxi treasure, the house was deeded to the Garden Clubs in 1966. After restoration, in 1989 the Garden Clubs deeded the house back to the city with protective reversionary clauses to insure its continued public usages.
