Hurricane Katrina swept in on August 29,2005. The garden center building disappeared. Many of our members lost their homes or had them seriously damaged. However on Dec 8 , twelve of us met at the Bay St Louis library to plan our future. We held meetings during the spring of 2006, either at the library or at members homes. For our first program, in January Marty DeBolt, of Hattiesburg, spoke on container plants for trailers. Each member received a plant to take home to her RV. During the spring, two members became Master Foresters and learned about fixing storm damage in trees. We received “Grow Boxes” from a club in Washington state, so we could start our vegetable gardens. One was donated to a first grade class, also meeting in a trailer. We continued receiving plants and money from garden clubs around the country. For the 2006-7 year we met at the Kate Lobrano House as guests of the Historical Society. We hosted the fall
