Tumage replaced Joe Cole as Music Director. Shiloh Baptist Church, a black church, was given help in their building program. The Women's Missionary Union now had 65 members and a new night circle. The Sunday School reported an enrollment of 251. During this year it was reported that 69 additions had been made to the church with 31 by baptism. A sidewalk to the Hart House was approved.
Our pastor reported on the Evangelistic Conference he attended in Natchez, Mississippi. He told us that in the following year it would be held at Gulfshore Assembly Center at Henderson Point. The Gulf Coast Association requested that the church underwrite a loan with the other churches in the Association to buy property on Pass Road between Mississippi City and Biloxi in the Popps Ferry Area for construction of a mission. It was approved by the church on March 31, 1960.
A letter of gratitude to Dr. W. Plunkett Martin on his retirement from the New Orleans Baptist Seminary read: "You were gracious to sing and lead us in praise during a revival meeting in 1943 when Dr. Frank Stagg did the preaching. Then we were small in number and possessed a frame building located in an obscure comer of Cedar Rest Cemetery. We received, with appreciation, your generous gifts of our first Broadman Hymnals.? Bob Tumage resigned as Minister of Music and was replaced by E. D. Montgomery. A letter was sent to the Waveland Mission congratulating them on becoming a church on October 16, 1960. The church united with other protestant churches to erect a highway sign directing visitors to our churches. The church also participated in the Census survey of the community. This year also saw our church's pastorium debt-free. Post cards and church bulletins with a picture of the church were authorized at this time. Rev. Chester Swor conducted the Spring Revival in our church.
Rev. Franklin Atkinson left our church in October 1961 to accept the pastorate of Riverside Baptist Church in New Orleans. Dr. J. H. Kennedy became our Interim Pastor in April 1962. Mims M. Roberts became our Minister of Education and Music.
The year 1963 brought Rev. Emory Green to our pulpit. He came on April 21, 1963, and remained with the church for 3 years. The Lottie Moon Offering
