While still living in Germany, she (Elisabeth) married (first name unknown) Schultes (spelled mostly "Shultes" today and a variety of ways). Evidence of this was found by Bruce Weidman when he located a 1794 New York "indenture" where Jacob Weidman (Sr.) sold 261 acres to his son, Peter. The record in part reads "Petrus Weidman paid unto William Weidman, Jacob Weidman, Jun'r and Annatie Zimmer, the children of said Jacob each 50 pounds lawful money as aforesaid and unto Matthias Schultes, his wife's son, the sum of twenty pounds like money..."
Elisabeth Dietz most likely married Schultes in Vielbach, Germany, and he apparently died there prior to Elisabeth migrating to America. She came here with her son, Matthias Schultes, Johanna "Anna" Eva Dietz, her widowed Mother (her father, Johann Peter Dietz, died in 1730 in Vielbach), and her younger siblings. The youngest, Henrich P. Dietz, who would have been age 4 if they left Germany in 1734 did not make the initial trip. We assume he was too young to travel or was sickly at the time they left. He later left for America in 1744 at age 14, and moved in with family here.
Elisabeth Dietz Schultes and her family first settled in the area near Loonenburg, Greene Co., NY. This is where she married a second time to our Jacob Weidman in 1743. Sometime around 1743 Elisabeth's mother and siblings also moved to the area of Berne and Schoharie. Records cited by several researchers prove (to our satisfaction) that the widow, Johanna Eva "Anna" Becker Dietz, married a second time in New York to Peter Oberbach. Peter Oberbach was previously married to Elisabeth Stein who had apparently died. Johanna Eva "Anna" Becker was born approximately 1690, probably in Vielbach, died in Berne, and is buried in that town's cemetery.
Johanna Eva "Anna" Becker's first husband was Johann Peter Dietz. They married on July 6, 1712 also in Vielbach, Germany, and he died there on January
18,	1730. He was baptized in the Church Parish of Nordhofen, Vielbach, Germany on June 27, 1690, son of Johann Wilhelm Dietz and Anna Maria Sturm. Johann Peter Dietz and Johanna Eva "Anna" Becker had nine children:
