Lightning has been determined to be the cause of a fire that destroyed a weekend home on Riverside Drive in Pearlington and damaged an adjacent structure. According to Hancock County Fire Marshall Jay Marsh, the fire apparently started during a Thursday afternoon lightning storm. According to Randy Fraley of the West Hancock Volunteer Fire Department, lightning apparently on uv.iv mu ticca ijcai iu me uuuse and traveled down the branches into the structure. The fire was reported at 1:45 p.m. by a neighbor who said he had heard the blast that caused the blaze, Fraley said. West Hancock volunteers were assisted in fighting the flames by Clermont Harbor, BaySide Park and East Hancock volunteer firefighters and members of the Waveland and Bay St. Louis fire departments. Visitation was from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Seuzeneau died at 5:54 p.m. Friday, June 20, 1986 at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Biloxi. He was a native and lifelong resident of Bay St. Louis, a 1938 graduate of St. Stanislaus College and had attended Loyola University in New Orleans, La. He was a World War II veteran, having served with the U.S. Navy Construction Batallion in the Pacific Theater. One residence directly to the left of the destroyed home had exterior wall damages. Fraley said the destroyed home?s occupant, Oscar A. Wolfe, told firefighters he had left the building only about 20 minutes before the fire started. The owners of the damaged home, also a weekend residence, were also away when the fire occurred. No one was reported injured while fighting the fire, West Hancock Volunteer Clem Delacroix said. Also assisting at the scene was a crew from Coast Electric Power Company and deputies from the Hancock County Sheriff?s Department. have been recovered. Anderson Jr. of Waveland was arrested Saturday, June 21 and received his seventh charge for driving under the influence of alcohol. This most recent charge stemmed from an accident early Friday morning on Lower Bay Road near St. Ann?s Church. Anderson, 40, of 721 Old Spanish Trail, was eastbound in a 1980 Ford on the wrong side of the road when he struck a 1976 Lincoln Continental driven by Rodney J. Boden, Hancock County Sheriff Ronnie Peterson said. Boden, 29, of 15800 Van Eaton Cir- cle, Biloxi was reported to be uninjured in the accident and left the scene. However he was later admitted to Biloxi Regional Medical Center complaining of neck and back pains. Boden said Saturday morning in a telephone interview, he expected to be released later that afternoon. Anderson was transported by Mobile Medic to Memorial Hospital in Gulfport but later transferred to Gulf Coast Community Hospital. He was released from the hospital Saturday morning.
