Located on the Bank of Pearl River are Two Promising Towns in the Interior of Hancock County

LOGTOWN, MISS., has a population of about 1,200, besides a white public school, there is also a school for the colored race. There is a Methodist and Baptist church, several stores, besides the large general store, of the H. Weston Lumber Company, and also a public meeting hall. The lands back of Logtown are adapted to cattle raising, which has been highly successful. It has been demonstrated that if intelligently farmed, these lands will produce from SO to 60
bushels of potatoes to the acre; from 40 to 50 bushels of corn to the acre, besides cotton that has no superior in South Mississippi lands. All kinds of vegetables thrive on these lands, as well as small fruits:	strawberries, figs, melons, oranges
and all kinds of citrus fruits, sugar cane for the making of the highest grades of syrup, all kinds of peas and beans almost grow wild. These lands can be purchased at from $10 40 to $20 per acre.
