This elegant church, which is situated on the east side of Baronne street, near Canal, and under the direction of the Jesuit Fathers, is one of the most noted in New Orleans for its beauty of architecture and quaintncss of design, and has for years enjoyed the distinction of having one of the best choirs in the country, always employing first class artists as organists and singers; while the reputation of its pastors, for eloquence and learning is national.
