the baby was with them perfectly well, and last evening (Friday) we recieved an invitation to his funeral. he was taken with convulsions on Thursday evening and died on friday morning, to be buried to-day. another proof of the uncertainty of this life and the necessity and wisdom of making our peace with God while in health. I have had a letter for you from our dear Andrew some time, but ever since yours, in which you wrote, that you would go to Kentucky, and then immediately after your return, would start for this place, I have been looking for you, and concluded not to send it up as it might possibly miss you. I will therefore enclose it to day. better late than never. I hope he will find a letter from you at Fort Cobb upon his return there I have recieved one from him which I enclose also.
