Jases sas the second child and 1st son of John and Mary litzinger Stockton. Early in life he chose the sea as his occupation cossa?cing before the last and by gradual promotion he bscase the saster of a sail inf vessell trading between Baltimore and European ports. Or. Feb 22 1886 he earned Eliza Slesssr b 11 Sept 1604 by Rev John Slendy in Baltiaore. Eliza's parents were Christian and Elizabeth Slesaer of old Pennsylvania and Maryland stock. About 1835-36 Captain Jases Stockton abandoned a sea-faring life and took up his residence in the City of Hex Orleans, where he was naturally attracted by enterprises connected sore or less sith his old calling, aaong the first in which he engaged was as part owner of a floating dock and sarine ways to repair vessels. Later in life he sas appointed Harbor Master of the New Basin Canal, an avenue of toaaerce connecting the city of New Orleans with Lake Pontchatrain. This position he held at the tise of his death. On the consolidation of the City under one governeeni, instead of three, in 1858 Mr Stockton was elected by the people of his district to serve as alderaan in the Upper Board of the City Council. He also held positions of honor and trust, and was .highly respected by his friends and neighbors, as an nonest, intelligent and aoral gentleaan,

Thoaas Stockton learned the trade of 'coopering1 about the year 1336 and aoved to New	Orleans, La where	he followed his trade	and on Oct	17th 1840 aarried
by Rev	Theodore Clapp to	REBECCA COW. Their	first son was	Richard Canon
Stockton b 26 Sep 1842. and d. 6 July 1874 and buried in Valence St Ceaetery. Their first dau was Mary Francis Stockton whs was born in Van Buren, Ark 28 Mar 1845.	She was aarried to	a Thoaas Pulley, or	a	'Charles H	B Pulley'
Their second son was John	Hancock Stockton b	5	Sept 1847	Elks Mills, Newton
County, Missouri. He died in New Orleans and is buried in the DOW Tossb in Girard Street Ceaetery. Their second daughter and 4th child was Louisa Isabella Stockton b 16 Dec 1850, Elks Mills, Mo. d. New Orleans 8 Mar 1878.
Her aother d in 1881 and was b in Cypress Srove Ceaetery and assuae that Isabella was also buried there.

ISSAC F STOCKTON learned the trade of engraver and copper-plate printer and about 1836 left Baltimore and took up persanent residence in New Orleans La where he followed his trade for sose	several years and then engaged in
sercantile pursuits, on 17 Oct 1839	he	aarried MARY ISABELLA PEACOCK,	a
