4.	WORLD WAR II HONOR ROLL, CITY H ALL, 201 JEFF DAVIS AVE. The original memorial was erected by the War Memorial Association in 1945 in the rose garden which had been established by the Long Beach Garden Club in 1931. It was moved to War Memorial Park when the present City Hall was built, and destroyed by Hurricane Camille in 1969. Their Memorial Rose Garden was reestablished by the Garden Club in 1991, and the Long Beach Historical Society made the restoration of the WWII Honor Roll Memorial their primary project during the first years of their organization. 5A. FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 208 PINE
ST. (comer of Church St.) The church was organized by Mrs. Douglas Donovan when Mr. Donovan and his wife moved to “Scotts Station” where he would work as a maintenance engineer for the New Orleans, Mobile and Chattanooga Railroad. It was an interdenominational Sunday School and held worship meetings under majestic oak trees near the Gulf. In 1874 they arranged to convert an abandoned boxcar- once used to transport goats-into a church on a side rail. This tiny shelter was named in 1875 “The Little Methodist Church of Scotts Station.” Hosts: Members of the Church
5B. THE OCEAN WAVE QUILTERS EXHIBIT AT FELLOWSHIP HALL. Participating in the Pilgrimage for their 10th consecutive year, this popular display will include a variety of beautiful handmade items including new and old quilts, wall hangings, pillows, quillos, baby and children’s quilts, carry-alls and much more in different quilting techniques such as hand quilting, applique and machine quilting. PLEASE DO NOT MISS TRAVELING EXHIBIT. Oriental style quilt will be on display that was made by American military women stationed in Japan. The quilt represents all cities of Japan. 6.	“THE GARDENING ANGEL” HOME AND BUSINESS OF ELIZABETH MEYER, 406 JEFF DAMS AVE. This charming coastal cottage was built in 1901 and is the oldest building on Jeff Davis. The Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul resided here in the ‘20’s. This unique sea side tin roof structure has become the home, landscape design studio and retail garden and gift shop of Ms. Meyer. Mr. Chester Byers, a Long Beach orchid grower for forty years will present a special exhibit of orchids and answer your questions on these exotic plants. Hours: 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

This 51-acre shrine, built circa 1852, was the last home of Jefferson Davis, the only President of the Confederacy. Beauvoir houses a Presidential Library, a Confederate museum, the Tomb of the Unkown Confederate Soldier, an Arboretum (established by Beach Garden Society) and many Davis family heirlooms. Yesteryear Young Dancers will perform. Beach Garden Society members, dressed in period costumes, will provide information on camellias in their recently dedicated camellia garden. They will also provide the floral arrangements throughout the house.

2.	BILOXI LIGHTHOUSE, HIGHWAY 90 AT PORTER AVE. Erected in 1848, the Biloxi Lighthouse is reportedly the first cast metal lighthouse in the South. The light was civilian operated from 1848 to 1939, and is notable for its several female light keepers, including, Maria Younghans, who tended the light for 53 years. In 1939, the U.S. Coast Guard assumed responsibility for the light’s’s operation. After being declared surplus property in 1968, the Biloxi Lighthouse was deeded to the City of Biloxi. 3.	MARDI GRAS MUSEUM, 119 RUE MAGNOLIA. Come catch the Mardi Gras spirit! Located in the historic Magnolia Hotel, Biloxi’s Mardi Gras Museum traces the three hundred year history of the celebration of Mardi Gras on the Coast. On display are costumes, photographs and memorabilia of carnival celebrations along the Coast. Hostesses: Ladies well versed in Mardi Gras traditions.
