RE:	Notes of meeting held on April 18, 1991
A luncheon meeting of the Great Southern Trace Committee was on April 19, 1991 at 12:00 P.M. in the Great Southern Club; Hancock Bank Building; Gulfport, MS. In attendance was:

Mrs. McGinnis opened the meeting with a warm welcome for all those who braved the bad weather to attend. Next were introductions of those present and a standing invitation for others to attend future meetings. It is hoped that each City, Community area and the Counties encompassing the wide geographical boundaries of the Trace will soon be represented. Mrs. McGinnis reiterated that if anyone knows of persons interested in this project to please bring them to the next meeting.
Continuing the conceptual development of the Trace, each person in attendance was given an opportunity to comment on his/her feelings about the project, ideas on what to do next and interesting pieces of information that could be incorporated into the overall scheme.
Each person in attendance agreed emphatically that south Mississippi is rich in it’s cultural heritage, which is our strongest asset. A close second is our abundant natural resources and third our economic diversity. These three attributes make up the foundation upon which the Great Southern Trace can llourish as a collective way of making Southern Mississippi, neighboring states, the nation and even international travellers more attractive for business and pleasure.
•David Green - representing Pascagoula’s Vision 20/20 committee stated that Mayor Tom Hewlett was greatly interested in being a part of the Trace Project and will try to be at the next meeting. Also, David was glad to be in the early stages of this project and it will be a great way for Pascagoula to have vision 20/20 included in with the Trace Project. Pascagoula and all of Jackson County has a lot to offer; from
