Our teenagers are still collecting funds for Howard Dawsey. Diane Pullman,-Kathy and Marietta Wyman, Dottle Mitchell, Kathy Necaise and the Dean girls, Sharen and Karen, have spearheaded drives at school and ball games. All the kids have done a wonderful job!

The face of Jim’s Bayou is changing these days, as the county port and harbor project gets underway. We recently watched as a snowy egret, mar-
shalled by a breeze that at first only vaguely penetrated Hie coarse grass perched atop an old automobile, dumped as part of the retaining wall of the canal. The bird observed industrial progress from approximately the same location as did Claiborne, 100 years ago. He completely Ignored our intrusion as if to say he was under the aegis of Mulatto Bayou. B augurs well!	,
