Farewells: A Musical Celebration? opens tonight at Center State at 8 p.m. as the first show of the 1989-90 season and the last show at the little theater on Cowart fload in Gulfport. SiAsequent performances are scheduled for Aug. 25-26 at 8 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 27 at 3 p.m., Aug. 29-Sept. 2 at 8 p.m. and Sept. 3 at 3 p.m. The musical revue features performances by Keith Ballard, Ronny Broussard, Lynn C. Daniels, David Delk, Terese Gar-giulo, Pam Jones, Estelle Maxwell, Barbara Salloum, Rose Wallace and Skip Wusnack, with musical direction by Bob Moody and choreography by Ruth Ann Pecoul. Reservations are necessary and may be made by calling the Center Stage box office at 896-6455. Tickets range from $5.50 to $8.50 with special discounts available for students and senior citizens. Season subscriptions are also available. The season will resume after Jan. 1 in the new Center Stage in the Petit Bois Specialty Center with ?The Ponder Heart,? adapted from the story by Eudo-ra Welty as the premiere production. Reception for three artists hosted Southern Interiors will celebrate the first anniversary of its Gulfport design studio and art gallery by hosting an ?Art Affair? exhibit and reception for three prominent Southern artists. Owner Gayle Bienvenu and her staff of designers will be on hand to introduce artists Pam Soileau, Chuck Blouin and Gerald Bienvenu. Pam Roberton Soileau of Baton Rouge will present new works in watercolor, pen and ink, and mixed media. Having studied with many professional artists, her work reflects an inate talent for shape and design. Vibrant col-nr-o onVinnnp hnld designs which are her trademark. She paints florals and still life subjects with a style and flourish hat have won her numerous awards in local and regional art exhibits. Chuck Blouin of New Orleans has combined his formal art training with studies in history and environmental design to achieve a style of painting that gives expression to a strong bond with the richness and splendor of the South. Gerald Bienvenu of Bay St. Louis has painted professionally for more than 25 years and is represented in gallery collections throughout the Eastern " United States. A watercolorist, Bienvenu was one of 127 artists accepted into the American Watercolor Society?s 121st national Exhibit. Eight of his original watercolors are now available as limited edition prints and will also be a part of the exhibit. Additionally, new pieces from a recent southeast trip will be shown for the first time. The public is invited to view approximately 60 new pieces of art and meet the artists at a, wine and cheese reception on Sunday, Aug. 27 from 1 to 6 p.m.' at the gallery.
