Worship 10:30 a.m., Discipleship Training 5:30 p.m., Evening WTorship 6:30 p.m. The Early Worship Service (8:30 a.m.) began on October 4. In September, Roberta Harvill became the new Financial Secretary, replacing Carol Jackson who was ill. In October, several language classes - Spanish and Vietnamese -with English as a Second Language were organized. Nine families were involved in these classes. Our church budget was $208,000. Our church goal for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering was $6,000. The Bergerons, our missionaries to Peru, spent December with us and returned to Peru laden down with things usable at the Mission. They were honored at a Fellowship Service at the church and spoke to their church family about their mission work.
During February 1993, the church spent time developing an action plan for The Great Commission Breakthrough by holding a Workshop. David Duncan was chosen to be our new Minister of Youth. The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering goal was set at $6,000. On March 28 the Handbell Ringers of Main Street Methodist Church gave a concert for us. During April a church-wide fellowship was held honoring the Senior Adults after the night service. In May a new Sound System was installed at a cost of $6,920.71. May 30 was the first official anniversary of Dr. Ed Deuschle as pastor of our church. In June, we witnessed a video display of "Flags of America" by Donald Dana, Jr. This video covered 500 years of our flag's history - from the Revolutionary War to Desert Shield/Storm. Vacation Bible School was held June 21-25. During July, Keith Carpenter gave a beautiful Chalk Talk and left the rendering for our church to enjoy. His daughter, Kerrie, gave a ventriloquist act with a doll. At this time we heard of the progress of the Center for International Seamen and Truckers by Charles Corey, the Director. During August, Dr. Jim Brewer became Interim Pastor for Bayside Mission. Dr. Deuschle and his wife, Rita, invited everyone to "Open House" at the Pastor's home. Growth visitation teams were organized. Six people represented each letter of the word G.R.O.W.T.H.and each person would visit one week every six weeks, making it a continuous visitation program. The Gideon Bible Fund was enriched by a contribution of $330. A donation of $733.54 was received for World Hunger. Margaret DeHaan was given a pin for her 26 years of perfect attendance in Sunday School. On October
