service the day after they arrived, with special ?usic and the message being brought to the congregation by one of the pastors accompanying the group. They had raised the funds to charter the bus by giving various projects and entertainments in their home town; this was the third of the "work projects" they had undertaken, spending part of the summer helping on an Indian Reservation in Arizona and, in	191^8,	had had a	project in	Ozone,
Tennessee. ^
They will never be forgotten by those they helped. They were, however, but one of three groups that came to the Coast specifically to assist the members of the First Presbyterian Church who suffered from Hurricane Camille, one of the groups coming from Colorado and spending most of its time repairing the extensive roof damage that had	been	suffered at	the church. The
generosity and compassion shown on all sides was remarkable.
Moreover, air conditioning and a heating system were installed in the manse in early July at the direction of the Deacons. In October, the Presbytery	even	met at the	church for	a very
successful	business session.	The Women	of the
Church saw to it that mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks were served, and there were ladies on hand around the clock to serve hot coffee.
And in late October, a kindergarten at the church was started under the supervision of the Session under the direction of Mrs. Lynn Chunn. (She had transferred here from Huntsville on April
6,	1969.) It was for children in the four to five year age group, with classes being held every aorning in the educational wing of the new annex. The kindergarten met a real community need of that time, the Session approving it on September 16, 1970.
The former pastor Reverend Lindsey was seriously ill during most of this 'year, and, towards the end of it, Mrs. Lindsey also was stricken and had to spend many months in a hospital in New Orleans. At the end of the year, the Session consisted of the Reverend Dwyn M. Mounger, Moderator; T.T. Reboul, Clerk; and Scotty Thomson, Max Dossett, Jay Howe and Dr. Walter Russo. The
