Annie (Ladner)- Shaw born May 28, 1831 in Hancock County MS.. She died June 6, 19L1 and is buried in the Tally Shaw Cemetery.

Annie Tadner (Carlos Iadner) horn May 28, 1R31, Hancock Co., MS.. At the age of sixteen she fell in love with a man her father had previously hired as a school teacher. He was to teach the children in the community how to read and write. This man was John Gaston Shaw, born Oct. 18, 1819 in South Carolina. He was a very outstanding young man and very industrious. He and his brother made a deal while livinq at home. They would plant cotton and when the cron was harvested they would split the profit, so they did. John's brother went North and was very prosperous. John built a boat and loaded his cotton on it and started down the river for New Orleans, La.. After a very hard trip, he finally landed, and findino a ready sale for his cotton and boat. He set out to find a Hotel where he lodqed for a few days. It wasn't lonq until he was robbed and beino broke he soon caught a schooner for home.
Their first stop was Rotten Savou, where he met Mr. Carlos Iadner.
It was his daughter John married, nec. 31, 1R46. They reared a larae family. In 1870, he signed an aqreement with the Board of
Directors, Harrison, Co.,	MS.	to perform		all the	duties of		a teacher
His salary being seventv-	five	dollars per school			month.

NOTE: John Gaston	Shaw born		Oct.	18, 1819 in Mayesville,			
S.C., the first son of Rebecca McBride and David Shaw. Rebecca's father, John McBride of Williamsburg, District of South Carolina was born near Kingstree, S.C. in 1758. In the American Revolution John served our country well. In battles at Black River, Eutaw, Georgetown, Santee, and White Marsh, North Carolina. In 1780, when Capt. Hamilton, then commanding the Kingstree Cortpany went over to the tories. There was a change in conmand, John Me Bride was corcm-issioned a Lieutenant in the same company. He was in the engagement at the fall of Charleston in 1780.
David Shaw (Annie (Ladner) Shaw, Carlos Ladner) married Mary Jane Tyner. He was a farmer. Mary was born Oct. 2, 1849 and died Oct. 23, 1901.
