Marine Lance Cpl.'James Johnston Stleffel H,'22, a native of Bay St, Louis, accidentally was shot to death. Tuesday at Quantlcoi^a,, by a fellow serviceman#^
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Peace Church In Vacberl#, with the Rev. Thomas Allain officiating.
Interment was in the church's cemetery. Arrangements handled by Our so Funeral Home of DonaldaonvlUe.
Cpl. Stleffel, a military policeman at Quant loo, was a graduate of Bay High School,
Before Joining the U.S. Marine Corps in June, 1987, he worked in the electrical department of Avondale Shipyards, Inc.
After basic training at Camp Lejeune, N.C., and at Parris Island, S, C., he was sent to the Third Marine Division in Vietnam.
In Vietnam, he was wounded January, 1968, by shrapnel while he was rescuing two of his buddies. He returned to the United States last December and went to Quantlco, Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Sandra Pelatte Stleffel;

Students Tour Library
Students of the first and second grades of St. Rose de Lima School visited the Library this week, accompanied by Sister Ann Martin who was assisted bv two of the students, Reba Harris and Don Smith, as chaperons. Each youngster filled out a membership card and explored the shelves of the Children?s Room to select a book to take out.
The visit was a facet of the School?s Individualist Reading Laboratory program Instigated by Sister James, the Principal. Purpose of the program Is to Impress on parents the Importance of each child continuing to read during vacation. ?Reading skills are lost during the summer months", states Sister Ann, '.?.unless the child keeps or reading?.
