privileged children in conjunction with Camp Onward, serving on the board of the Gulf Coast Mental Health Association and was instrumental in having services extended to Hancock County; served on the board of the retarded children's school and helped to further the cause of better services for these children.
As one of her friends remarked, "Whenever you hear of a good program in this area, you can be sure this lady has been on it, for it, or began it herself. She is sure to have advanced its cause some way."
Our outstanding citizen is a Navy widow with three children, 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The Hancock County Chamber of Commerce believes that this lady deserves the award she is about to receive tonight for her wholehearted endeavors to further the good of Hancock County.
So, ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce to you the Outstanding Citizen of 1982, Mrs. May Hogan Beyer.
