Lazenby, and Sarah Ansley. It should be noted that Joshua does not mention a wife (Mary Rooks) in the Will, and we will assume she died in 1825 or earlier.
The Warren County “Inventories and Appraisements Book D-E, page 129 - 135” lists all of Joshua’s property at the time of his death, what each item sold for, and who bought each item. From the items sold, it appears they sold everything, making us wonder how the heirs could operate the farm, unless they also intended to sell the farm. It should be noted that none of these records give Joshua’s date of death, and we can assume he died on or shortly before May 1, 1826. We will assign his death date as “shortly before May 1, 1826.”
We will now elaborate on the 9 children of Joshua Stanford, Sr. to reach maturity:
1.	Levi Stanford - bom around 1772 in Maryland and died before March 4,
1846, in Georgia. He first married Sarah “Sally” Todd on March 20,1821, in Putnam County, GA, and they divorced in 1830 in Crawford County, GA.
He then married Elizabeth Bams on August 1, 1833, in Crawford County. His descendants identify five children: Benjamin, John C., Joshua T., Levi M.,
Jr., and Isaac T. Stanford.
2.	John Stanford - bom on January 15, 1778, in Maryland, and he is our direct ancestor as already discussed in this paper.
3.	Joshua Stanford, Jr. - bom on January 17, 1779, in Somerset County, MD.
His Will was written on November 10, 1836, in Columbia County, GA, and probate was opened on December, 24, 1836, thus we know he died in 1836.
He married Louisa Johnson on August 19, 1824, in Columbia County, GA. Based on his Will, his heirs were Mariah Farr, Harriet Harris, Pery, Davis P., and Jeptha Stanford.
4.	Sophia Stanford - her birth year is estimated to be 1782 in Somerset County, MD, and she died before 1850 in Butts County, GA. She married Josiah Draper on August 2, 1804, in WaiTen County, GA. Josiah was living next to Joshua Stanford in the 1805 tax list of Warren County. Researchers identify one son, John Draper.
5.	Leven (Levin) Stanford - he was bom on January 22, 1784, and died on November 15, 1850, as taken form his headstone in the Stanford Cemetery near Eatonton, Putnam County, GA. He married “Nelly McGee” on November 20, 1803, in Warren County, GA. They are listed in the 1850 census of Putnam County, GA. He is listed as age 65, bom in Maryland, and wife is listed as “Eleanor,” age 63, born in MD. Their children were: Nehemiah, Nathaniel, Elizabeth, Matilda M., Joel, Leah, Leven, Jr., Herod K., and Addie Mae Stanford.
6.	Joseph Stanford - bom in 1786 as found on the 1850 census of Putnam County, GA, that shows him as age 64, bom in Maryland. He did not appear to have a wife or children that year, but was living with Concord Draper and Margaret Henderson. In the census dated June 23, 1860, of Putnam County, he was a border living with other adults and had no obvious connection to them. Same year, the Putnam County Mortality census has him dying in November 1859, age 71, and bom in Maryland. This record lists those that
