6.	Home of Roland J. Hymel Jr.. 711 North Beach Blvd. 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Deja View, a contemporary, beach-front, Califomia-Spanish style home was completed in 1990 by Mr. Hymel. who was its contractor. The playful name alludes to a previous home, also owned by Mr. Hymel but destroyed during Hurricane Camille, and to the expansive Gulf view—a view enjoyed from the main section of the symmetrical. palladian-like structure as well as from each of its two wings. Built as a retirement home, the construction was engineered to withstand 175 mile-an-hour winds, and all materials—inside and out— were selected for maximum longevity with minimum maintenance. The main section of the residence, a “flowing living space," culminates in a virtually unrestricted command of the Gulf and opens to its persistent breezes. Suspended from the 28’ cathedral ceiling is a circa-1890, three-tier, brass chandelier fashioned by Dutch craftsmen. Of special note is the cypress tongue-and-groove loft face which overlooks the central space and which exhibits four, functional portholes salvaged from the highly decorated W.W.II aircraft carrier, the U.S.S. Cabot-Dedalo. Finished in a distinctive “tropicana coral,” the home is located on four acres of property featuring a swimming pool, tennis court, duck pond, and putting green.

2.	HOME OF JOSEPH AND LOUISE KOLB - 6448 Apelehama Rd.
-	Designed and built by Mr. Kolb, this Acadian style home nestles among stately trees. The openness of the interior design and placement of windows “bring in” exterior plantings. You will be delighted with the combined kitchen, informal dining, and family room which allows for interaction during meal preparation. Interior colors make the home light and airy. Unique wall groupings, a large deck, and gardens add to the flavor of the home.
3.	HOME OF ROBERT AND JETTIE BOZANT. 6436 Apelehama Rd.
-	This unique home reflects the family unity which is so important to this young couple. Building the home was a “labor of love” since they performed the work. Many materials were obtained from a New Orleans turn-of-the-century home which they razed. Of interest are imported Brazilian hardwood floors, the Jacuzzi enclosed in cypress obtained through stripping antique pocket doors, the Victorian mantle, and light fixtures. The furnishings are from the Victorian and turn-of-the-century eras. A deck and gazebo provide a view of landscaping which compliments the home.
4.	GARDENS OF SULLY AND MARY KAHN, 6490 Kalepekona Way
-	These mature gardens give the impression of a “flow” of plantings providing texture, size, and shape. Visitors are greeted by hedges and large plantings of azaleas, spirea, camellias, ferns, etc., which surround the entry. A rear patio overlooks a “natural" setting which offers a blending of statuary, decorative rock, bird feeders, fountains, potted plants, and a variety of in-ground plants - all under a cover of elegant native trees. A rear swing allows a place of solitude and a log fence surrounds the area adding to the overall view.
5.	GARDENS OF MIKE AND GAIL RUSSO, 96491 Diamondhead Drive West - Care and planning are evident in these two-year old gardens. Grouped around the front entry and side yards are beds of azaleas, heather, caladiums, coleus, holly, dusty miller, etc. Adding
to the effect are oak trees, flowering pear, and an apple tree. Visitors are greeted in the rear yard bordering the golf course by strategically placed groupings of spirea, azaleas, and privet. An area left to nature adds to the effect. Both front and rear gardens have placed the owners among the recipients of the coveted "Garden of the Month” awards of the Diamondhead Garden Club.
6.	GARDENS OF JOHN AND MARY SINDERS, 88386 Diamondhead Drive East - These gardens were established over a three-year period. Front and side gardens surround a wooden deck and feature camellias, sasanqua, holly, hydrangea, hosta, and ferns growing together under native oaks. The back garden features a fountain surrounded by seasonal annuals and daylilies and a native flower garden off the pergola. Other back gardens carry out the front garden theme.
7.	DIAMONDHEAD COUNTRY CLUB - A special Dutch Treat luncheon buffet will be served at the Country Club from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Reservations are NOT necessary.
8.	HOME OF GERALD & DELORA DIEKEMA, La Casita. 7607 Fairway Drive.'Completed in 1989, this two-story neo-classical home was designed by Mr. Diekema. a registered architect. Large white columns, complimented by white marble floors, greet you as you enter this unusual home. The upper level features an open living area divided only by columns. Of special interest is the fitness area and whirlpool tub, separated from the bedroom by glass blocks. The library as well as the English type billiard room on the first floor feature custom cabinetry by Mr. Diekema. Artwork throughout the home includes many paintings and sculptures by Mrs. Diekema.
9.	HOME OF M. B. AND SAMMY DYER, 6644 Ahekola Circle -Designed and built by a prominent local builder, this home is elegant while providing a relaxing and informal atmosphere. Elegance is expressed in foyer columns, large crown moldings, a raised dining room, and master suite with a Texas-sized bathroom. The home is beautifully decorated with white Italian leather furniture, Adobe tables, pickled oak, and white wicker. You'll note the interesting leaded glass window in the bath and the view of an award-winning landscape from the breakfast room.
10.	HOME OF J. J. AND JACKIE COURET, 7810 Maui Court - This attractive home was planned and designed by the owner's son. Built for informal entertainment, the living room with cathedral ceilings is accentuated by a wet bar and stone fireplace which is decorated with seasonal or holiday motifs. Of special interest in the formal dining room is a large built-in breakfront. To the rear of the living room, one steps down into the spacious "garden room” facing Maui Pond. A covered deck rests at the pond bank. Antiques collected by the owners over the years and special custom-made items crafted by Mr. Couret will delight you in this lovely home.

2.	243 EAST SCENIC DRIVE. This antebellum home built in 1856 is presently owned by the Heinz Hoffmanns of Stony Brook, N.Y. It features a historical marker as “Union Quarters" in 1862, two-story square columns, an ornamental roof, a cast iron fence and displays three beloved historical flags. The grounds and first floor are open to visitors.
