NATIONAL AERONAUTICS AND SPACE ADMINISTRATION GEORGE C. MARSHALL SPACE FLIGHT CENTER MISSISSIPPI TEST OPERATIONS Bay St. Louis, Mississippi 39520 IN REPLY REFER TO: January 20, 19 72 Mrs. Mary S. Blanchard, MTF-CL George C. Marshall Space Flight Center Mississippi Test Facility Bay St. Louis, Mississippi 39520 Dear Mrs. Blanchard: Since I will soon be leaving the MTF, I feel that it is important that some of my observations be registered in an official manner. Too often, a casual "thank you" or a grunt of acknowledgment are the order of the day for a job well done. While it is in retrospect that I write these words, my official status at this installation still requires that I close my own civil service career with proper thanks for your long term support, patience, excellence and tolerance. It would not be fair, but redundant to comment further on the excellent manner which you have, at all times, performed your tasks. It is necessary, however, that I extend to you my thanks for possessing several qualities, which are not "in the book". These qualities, when coupled with innate excellence are the real reason for this letter. The ability to be discreet, to be tolerant and patient, to exercise initiative and to be able to anticipate are subjective qualities which change the mediocre to the brilliant. You have these qualities as attested by several years of association and I thank you for them. With best wishes, E. W. King \ cc: 201 file
