"J. B. Toule was born in Nantes, Dept d'Loire, France in 1750. His son, Jean Baptiste was born either in France or Santo Domingo around 1795. The Toulme family emigrated to the U. They were married in Bay St. Louis, He owned a large mercantile and stock raising business and he was a member of the state legislature for 1-2 sessions. He was may of the city and identified with all public movements.
