“We tried thinking of many ways of thanking the student airmen and the men from the Prime BEEF team for their help in restoring our home, and then Linda, our daughter, came up with the idea of erecting a poster with a most hearty thank-you on it,” said Mrs. R.
E.	Newman.
Linda, 12, daughter of Master Sergeant and Mrs. R. E. Newman, 6344 “D” Street, Keesler AFB, found out how much it meant to have “a little help frorh your friends!”__________
During Hurricane Camille, the water from the Biloxi Back Bay area and the heavy rains caused flooding into many of the housing units. The Newman home was filled with approximately 4 feet of water, according to Msgt. Newman, noncommissioned officer-in-charge of safety for Eastern Ground Electronics Engineering Installation Agency Region.
Soon student airmen from the 3385th Student Squadron arrived at their home and mopped and washed the walls and floors. Thev moved furniture and
:leared debris which had fallen from trees.
Prime BEEF Team 70-4 then stepped in, knocking out the; damaged walls of the Newman! home, and then disinfecting the1 interior. Prime BEEF, Prime for the best and BEEF for Base Emergency Engineering Force, reconstructed the damaged Newman home in a mat-, ter of a few days. The Newmans were on the road to recovery.
Linda, a young lady with three brothers, Ralph, 16; Michael, 14; and Stephen, 10, worked on the poster for 2 hours.
Linda’s mother said with a grateful voice, “We couldn’t have managed without the men from the 3385th Student Squadron and the men from Prime BEEF. We’re all so very grate-Iful.”
