We will now list what are possibly some or all of James and Elizabeth Daughdrill Davis’ children. This list is based primarily on the research of Vivian Davis Bomemann.
She lived at the time when some of her early Davis relatives were still living. While she surely got most of her information correct, we do not guarantee its accuracy. While doing our research on these children, we have found a number of discrepancies that we will not discuss in this report. This information can be studied in our “file” on these families.
The children of James and Elizabeth Davis are:
1.	Sarah Davis - bom on December 26, 1803 and died on October 28, 1879. She married John Anderson, and resided in Perry and Marion Counties, MS. She is buried in Graney Bounds Cemetery with a headstone in Forrest County, MS.
2.	Harrison Davis - married (first name unknown) Head (?).
3.	Elizabeth Davis - married Thomas Batson and resided in Hancock and Harrison Counties, MS.
4.	Harietta Davis — married Brantley “Brant” Bond and resided in Harrison County, now Stone County, MS. Brantley Bond is buried with a headstone saying he was bom in 1804 and died in 1853 in Memorial Park, Wiggins, MS. We assume Harietta is also buried there without a headstone.
5.	Jane Davis — bom in 1813, married Robert Brown, and will be discussed shortly.
6.	James Davis, II - bom on October 3, 1814 in Alabama, and died in Poplarville, MS on October 27, 1872. He married Jane Swetman, and resided in Harrison and Pearl River Counties, MS. He and his family are listed in the 1850 census of Harrison County.
7.	Christopher Edwin “Eddings” Davis - bom in 1816 and married Virginia “Jenny”
Stewart. He resided in Marion County, MS and died there around 1861. Eddings and family can be found in the 1860 census of Marion County, MS. He is the ancestor of Mary F. Smith Fisher residing in Clinton, MS. She has been a big help with this research.
8.	William Davis - bom on August 11, 1818 and died in 1871 in Perry County, MS. He married Sarah Bonds and resided in Perry County. He can be found in the 1850, 1860, and 1870 censuses of Perry County with family.
9.	Caroline Davis - bom on June 4, 1820 in Perry County, MS. She married Zachariah Daughdrill on May 18, 1835 in Marion County, MS, and resided in Marion and Pearl River Counties, MS. She was last listed in the 1910 census of Pearl River County living with relatives.
10.	Elmira Davis - bom ini822, married first to Henry Daughdrill, second to Edward Fortenberry, and resided in Columbia, MS. She died on January 12, 1908 in Columbia, MS. She and her family can be found in the 1860 census of Marion County. She is also found in the 1870, 1880, and 1900 censuses of Lawrence County, MS.
11.	John Harrell Davis - bom on July 3, 1826 in MS, and died on May 10, 1907 in Lamar County, MS. He married Rebecca Stewart, and resided last in Purvis, MS. He can be found in the 1880 census of Perry County, MS.
Setting aside the errors and “added dates” by Mrs. Bomemann, we know she was correct in saying our Robert Brown’s wife, Jane Davis, is the daughter of James Davis and Elizabeth Daughdrill for several reasons. First, there was only one family of Davis’ that settled in Perry County in the very early 1800’s, and from all indications our Jane Davis was bom in Perry County, MS. Second, our James Davis was the only Davis living in Perry
