From the union of Joseph Zengerling and Anna Hoppe several children were bom, one of whom was Benjamin, born in April 1867 (1900 census). Benjamin married Helen McDonald and had a large family in Newark, NJ. He is also the ancestor of Hugh Singerline. It was this generation that started using the name ?Singerline? on a regular basis.
C.	Anna Zengerling - born in 1836 in ?Prussia? as listed in the 1860 Newark census living with her parents. She is not listed with her mother when the family landed in New York in 1844. With her born in 1836, this place of birth must be correct.
D.	Maria ?Mary? Zengerling - born in 1847 in ?New York? as listed in the 1860 census of Newark living with her parents.
E.	Anna Maria Theresa Zengerling - bom in 1850 in ?New Jersey? as listed in the 1860 census of Newark living with her parents. She is listed in her father?s Will as ?Anna Othen.? This name is also spelled as Orthen, Otten, etc. Thus, she was still living in 1870 when her father made his Will.
F.	Catharina Rosina Zengerling - bom in 1853 in ?New Jersey? as found in the 1860 census of Newark living with her parents. She is also listed in her father?s 1870 Will and in the 1870 Newark census as age 16 living with her parents.
Maria Elisabeth Zengerling - bom February 14, 1806 in Gehrden. She married ?Johann Andreas Stange? in Gehrden, Germany on November 28, 1829. The record says he was a ?cabinet maker? and from ?Veckerhagen near Kassel? which is in Germany. As stated earlier, he shows up in Hancock County, MS as early as October
2,	1838 when he purchased land from Frangois Favre. The family immigrated from Germany in 1836 as Elisabeth Zengerling Stanga stated in the 1900 census of St. Tammany Parish, LA where she was living with her daughter and son-in-law, George and Mary Bush and their children. This information corresponds with Elisabeth Stanga?s brother, John Zengerling, who immigrated to the U.S.A. around 1835 as covered earlier.
Andrew Stanga was naturalized on October 6, 1853 in Hancock County, MS. That same day, his brother-in-law, John Zengerling, was also naturalized. Of interest, the record says that Andrew was ?a native of France, owing allegiance to Louis Napoleon.? On various census records and his marriage record, he clearly states he is from Germany or Austria. In the 1800s, Austria took in large parts of Germany
Andrew sold his land on January 20, 1852 and was probably planning a move to Louisiana. He and his family apparently left Mississippi around 1855 because on May
29,	1855 he gave a power of Attorney to John Zengerling, and the record stated he was ?in New Orleans, Louisiana.?
On September 2, 1972, we traveled to Covington, St Tammany Parish, LA to visit the oldest living granddaughter of John ?Andrew? Stanga and Mary ?Elisabeth? Zengerling. Her name was Annie (Mrs. Albert Hano) Bush, who was bom on February 4. 1889 and died in November 1977. She had a fairly good memory, and we will combine what she told us and what our research has shown.
