coming to a disaster to help," said Randall. "But they did come from everywhere, from all over the world."
Because of that, Randall, a lifelong resident of Pearlington, has taken it on himself, he said, to dedicate his time to helping his neighbors get the help they need to recover their lives.
When the doors threatened to close at the recovery center, Randall asked for permission to keep the doors open. With the help of Ritchie, and Laurie Spaschak, a Red Cross worker who stayed behind when the organization pulled out, he hopes to keep the center going at least another year.
"But we are just getting started," said Randall. "It will take ten
years for us to ful!> recover."
