Myles who leaves many surviving comrades and frieds in Mon roe. Died at his home near Montgomery Hill, Baldwin} county on Feb. 4., Capt. W. H. Myles, from the effects of a wound he received at Jonesboro, in 1864. The deceased was the gallant captain of company I. 2;)$ Ala. Reg., in the late civil >var, of whiclv?company our townsman, i R. L. McConnell, was a member E W received from that sturdy chief tair.-specil compliments for heroism on the field in the notable retreat of Hood?s army after the rput at Nashville. Many tears of sorrow will flow from Capt. Myles' comrades at the tidings of his demise, as in retrospection they view the panorama of events in which he acted with them in victory or defeat, ^heir benedictions go out to his'bereaved friends with a prayer to heaven for divine aid, to bring reconciliation to bleeding hearts in the imparablo loss they have sustained. The Captain was we?Fl worthy the esteem in the community where he was born, reared and died. No tribute to his character could ever reach the mark of merit he made as a fioldieT, citizen and friend. These facts bring consolation to the hearts of all who were endeared to him and may they live with a more jealous regard for the things S which work out a more sure re- ??V J j j ward than is accorded man in ??jthis uncertain state, m. l. r. l/o?a- p*t JO til P U C rf V* fc ti U oi F Iii o) t a i v: ii ?1 i it a
