Thus, when he emigrated to the United States his only remaining family was his father (who died in 1865), an older brother, who may or may not have left for the United States by then, and another brother, Francois Prosper, who was one year old.
How or why Grandpa Dupont ended up in Plaquemine, I do not know. The countryside is a disappointing comparison. There are no close relatives of ours left in France. We did find a great-grandson of Francois Trouper (about whom he had practically no knowledge). I have asked him to find out,	if he can, when	Francois Prosper	died	? ?
that date j.s missing on the	diagram.
AT no miming are the date3 of birth and death of Antoine. He must have been born in 17l7(his parents<were married in 1716) and he must have died after 1755 (his last child, F^lix Augustin, was born in September 1755). I have written to the Archbishopric of Besan^on to iask if church records indicate the dates I am looking for. Antoine was mayor of Arcey in 1751. His son, F^lix Augustin, was also maybi*.
The diagram, as you see, traces the name "Dupont" only in direct line to us. Descendants of collateral brothers (naturally named Dupont) or ojf. sisters, whose married names are not known to me, were not traced.
I hope yoU will find interest in this diagram and the information related to ifc. It is carried Torward to the generation of the children of Jules (Granspa)	Dupont, some of	whose children and
grandchildren are still alive. After that,	descendants with	child-
ren may wish; to extend it by a generation or two, which will make it current for his or her children and grandchildren.
