Cuevas, a native of Sellers Community in Hancock County and resident of Gulfport has authored a book titled ?Life History of Juan De Cuevas? and History of Cat Island and Life of Christian Ladnier, father-in-law of Juan De Cuevas. The publication printed and published by Dixie Press was released on Thursday. Franklin Cuevas spent some five years gathering information for the publications. The book on the life of Juan De Cuevas, hero of the War of 1812, is dedicated to his descendants and heirs. Juan De Cuevas arrived at Cat Island at the age of 20 from An-dalilsia, Spain in 1782.
