19	or thereabout They will	be housed at	Drew, Mississippi, and will
be working on the Powell Bayou site morid, 1.5 miles northeast of Drew. This is a large M i ss i ss i pp i an temple mouid which,.has., been partially pulled down. Salvage operations on the site early this spring by members of the Mississippi Archaeological Survey, revealed several superimposed hoMse sites The largest one, hang onto your hat, was ???) feet square1 For further information write Richard'A. Dill Hony, MSU, w?11 conduct test excavations at the Falls Mound near M.nter City, during this same period of time. He will e ' sinu 0?0 labor. The Falls Mound has been severely damaged by road constriction and the remainder of the mound is in danger. Hony will test the area underlaying the destroyed port ion of the mo-nd. Tho? gh the 'mound appears to be entirely M i ss i ss i pp i an, the levels below may run 1 ack to Poverty Point or earlier times.
The MSU second summer term may conduct excavations near the Gulf Coast from July ??:through Airust '1. We may have more information on this at a later date.
