and Ester "Ann" Rickard. They were both living in Huntersland at the time of their marriage. Ezra A. Weidman and Eudora Crosby had three children:
I.	Herbert "Herb" Weidman - born on July 7, 1886 in Huntersland, NY
based on his birth record found in the Middleburg, NY City Clerk's office. While it did not list his first name, it did name both of his parents. The record says his mother, "Andora Crosby" had "one other living child". This child will be discussed later. Herbert married on February 18, 1913 in Seward, NY to Katherine "Kate" Hewlett, Marr. Cert. #108. They appear in the 1920 U.S. Census of Seward, Schoharie Co., NY, house #143/151. On Herbert's WWI Draft Registration Card, he is listed as born on July 7, 1887 (Ancestory.com), but we are sure this is off by one year, for he is listed as born in "July 1886" as found in the 1900 census of Duanesburg, NY. He was living with his brother, Stanley Weidman, in the home of his Uncle and Aunt, Lucien and Hannah Castle. The census lists the two boys as "nephews". Grandma Margaret Woodard told us Herbert Weidman lived in Seward and Cobleskill, Schoharie Co., NY. He had no children and is buried in Cobleskill.
II.	(First name unknown) Weidman - male child born on October 16, 1889, in Huntersland, NY, in the same place the above Herbert's birth record was found and both parents named. His mother, "Dora Crosby" is listed as having "two other living children" at that time. This child apparently died, for no other record on him has been found.
III. Stanley Ezra Weidman - born on April 6, 1891 as already discussed.
When Stanley Ezra Weidman was a small child his mother died in 1894, he, his brother, and half-sister, Maude were place with family and neighbors to raise them. Thus, we find Stanley and Herbert living with their Uncle and Aunt (Castle) in the 1900 Census. We also find his half-sister, Maude, "adopted" in the same census. Because their father had to work, he could not raise them on his own.
Ezra A. Weidman's wife, Eudora "Dora" Crosby, was supposed to have been married (or had a child out of wedlock) prior to her marriage. According to her daughter-in-law, Margaret L. Seeley Weidman Woodward, she told us that Eudora Crosby had one child called Maude who sometimes went by Crosby, but mostly used the Weidman name (Ezra A. Weidman was her step-father).
The first record of this Maude is in the 1900 census of Knox, Albany Co., NY, house #329/329. She is listed as "Maude Weidman, born June 1883, adopted". She was living with William J. Allen, born August 1860 and Edith Allen, wife, born October 1860. There were no other children in the house. This town is approximately five miles south of Duanesburg where her half-brothers, Herbert and Stanley Weidman were living with their Aunt, Hannah Weidman Castle, also in 1900. Maude was born two years before her mother married Ezra A. Weidman. How the Allen's are connected to Maude is unknown.
