The name of DR. MARION J. WOLFE, SR. is herewith submitted for consideration in the	Coast	Chapter of the National Football Foundation
and Hall of Fame for the CONTRIBUTION TO AMATEUR FOOTBALL AWARD.
Doctor Wolfe was born May 5, 1906, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He attended Jefferson Davis Public School through the sixth grade; Jesuit School on Baronne Street through the eighth grade; and he completed his high school education at St. Stanislaus College in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. While attending Stv Stanislaus, he wdti on the track and cross country team.'VHe also played on an undefeated St. Stanislaus basketball teaa.-<*n his senior year he was captaift of both the track and cross country team, and he ranked first academically in the St. Stanislaus graduation class of 1923.
He entered medicine at Tulane University; and during his entire schooling at the Tulane Medical School, he did not miss one day of school. While at Tulane he ran cross country and track and earned three medals. ITe was also a member oi Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA), an honorary medical fraternity reserved for the top ten medical students in a graduating clasp. He graduated from Tulane in 1932 and spent two years of internship at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. He then became a member of the Mississippi Medical Association and began practicing medicine in Bay St. Louis as a general practloner on September 1, 1933.
He married the former Lillian Vetter on June 8, 1927; and they are the parents of three children. In 1977, Doctor and his wife celebrated the Golden Anniversary of their wedding. Since then his wife has died.
Since 1936 Doctor Wolfe has been the school physician at St. Stanislaus? that makes forty-nine years of service to his alma mater. No time of the day or night will Doc refuse to come help one of "his boys.,r And "his boys" over the years have included such athletic students at St. Stanislaus as Doc Blanchard,
