Before beautification begins, certain basic rules of law and safety must be agreed upon by the community. 1.	Arbor Day is the day to plant bushes, shrubs and/or trees.
Where?t BSL-Bay Hi, elementary, St Clair, Coast Episcopal, OLG, City Hall, Justice Facility, Assessor's office, library, post office, hospital, streets, Yacht Club, Garden Center, and Stennis airportj Waveland -schools, library, sewerage plaint, police station, Memorial trees have been planted for Mrs. Seal at the Garden Center^ also a marker in Commodore Park), for Michael Ramonoff at the BSL librar/*, a cherry tree
for Doris Thomson at the Waveland library, and at the Hospitality Center, Waveland, the "Avenue of Presidents" for past presidents of the club.In 1981 there were 5 separate plantings on Arbor Day. All of these days were community events with mayors, civic leaders and "friends-of" the landscaped place.
2.	With civilization comes litter and clean up. By 1955 zoning was established and "Clean-the-Beach-Day" was a yearly event. In 1958 the "anti-litter" campaign with cans and publicity did much to keep the city cleanj 1963 the club won first place in Sears Foundation "Hands" program for its anti-litter improvements for the year. 1962 one of the Junior Club members won 1st place in the National Litter Bug Poster Coloring Contest. Also club members distributed 3#000 litter bags and showed "Keep America Beautiful" films to 5 groups. 1971 after Camille, the Clean-Up-and-Beautification campaign was awarded a National Plaque.

tests and films were shown to 1,500 school children. And, the subject of "hazardous dumps" will be our watchword into the 21st century.
3.	In 1953 the club had as one of its projects the "Christmas Lighting Decoration" contest for the city in cooperation with city businesses. This has been a standing event with more participants per year. In 1980 the contest was revised to conserve energy by unlighted displays. In 1981 commercial places were included.
