Earth. Earth Day. April 20, is acknowledged world-wide. A picturesque symbol of this commitment is the new Earth Flag. In recent years, scientists have been stressing the possible doom of mankind, and maybe even the death of Planet Earth itself, because of the profligate use and disposal of materials and other happenings. We ask you to pause for reflection at each display of the Earth Flag in this Pilgrimage '90.
Ask for maps and information about the live oaks at each city’s hostess center. The trees, which are unattended, will be marked with yellow ribbons to express our love.

GULF HILLS Pilgrimage Chairman: Mrs. William J. Demoran Saturday, March 31 - 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
1.	ROYAL GULF HILLS RESORT AND COUNTRY CLUB - Paso Road. Newly renovated and featuring a flower show which has been especially arranged for the Pilgrimage by the Gulf Hills Garden Club members. The Floral Design Entries will be staged in the lobby, and the Horticulture Entries will be exhibited by the pool. Maps of Gulf Hills will be available.
2.	GULF HILLS MEMORIAL GARDEN AND PARK AT HALFWAY POINT - Shore Drive. A serene spot at the bend in a bayou that was set aside in the 1940’s by the late Mrs. Irma Branigar, wife of Gulf Hill’s original developer. Maintained by the Gulf Hills Garden Club, the crescent-shaped plot has been developed into a park and garden where live memorials may be planted.
3.	HOME OF RON AND JAN LUKENS - 13304 Pine Road. A blend of old and new marks this farmhouse style home on Pine Road. Antique mantelpieces lend an old look to new fireplaces and antique furnishings combine with newer traditional ones to create a comfortable family atmosphere. Furnishings feature a variety of woods including oak. mahogany, walnut, and pine. Pieces with an extra touch of nostalgic charm include an old brass bed, the 1850’s dining room set. and the nursery rocker. Artistic and musical interests of the owners are evidenced in original art work, musical instruments, and an old cedar wardrobe turned recording center. Tea will be served by members of the Gulf Hills Garden Club.
