*** This picked up in the middle of a story. I don't know where the beginning of it started. ***
on a big farm but later on they moved to Gulfport, Miss. So then later on they moved back on the farm where she was never happy as she never cared for farming. She taught school in Lake Shore, Miss, until one morning she and her oldest and youngest sons were going to Hattiesburg for Elma to get her masters Degree Diploma, and Jerry the oldest boy was going to find a place to board as he was going to teach in Hattiesburg and the baby boy just wanted to go with them. His mother tried to persuade him to stay home and get his cloths packed as he was supposed to go to some kind of a religious school the next day but he wanted to go so bad until she gave in. And just as they got to the road where you turn in to go to Wiggens, Miss., Jerry saw a car coming straight into them so he turned and when he turned to keep from going straight into the other car, she turned and ran into them. It was a woman who had Diabetes and the Dr. had cautioned her not to ever drive again because she had those spells that diabetic people have, so the cops said she either had a spell or went to sleep as she had driven all night from Memphis, Tenn. Her husband was a Methodist minister and they were going to Gulfport to see their daughter. The ministers head was cut half off and was laying on the hood of the car. Sister Elma's chest was crushed in, Daniel Leith's face was cut half into and Jerry had one leg cut off and I just can't tell you any more, but I will say Jerry was so tall they had to have a casket made for him and the baby boy just did fit in a regular coffin. The undertaker really did a good job in fixing them up. When I went and spoke to Archie, their father, I said Archie, that's a sad thing and he said well Pearl, God was good to us, he gave Elma two and left me two. Archie finally married Leah (Lundy) Murphy. She married Emma's oldest son (Kenneth) and he died several years before Elma's and the boys accident so not long after their deaths he married Leah and neither one of them lived very long. Elma and Leah were the greatest of friends from the time they taught school together until Elma's death. Elma loved all of her relatives and tried to come to see us as often as she could. She was 18 years old the first time I saw her. Irene loved us all too and seemed so happy to see any of us. After she left my father a short time after, she married a man by the name of Austin but never stayed yoked together too long when she left him. She may have had the same excuse
