SHRUBS INCLUDED NINE WISTERIA DONATED IN THE NAME nr T'E BAY-WAVELAND GARDEN CLUB.
ARBOR DAY WAS VERY OUTSTANDING AND MIANINGHJL, BECAUSE OP THE TERRIFIC LOSSES OF TREES AND SHRUBS IK HURRICANE CAMILLE. THE PLANTINGS AND ACTIVITIES CONTINUED THROUGHOUT THE DAY, AND WERE PARTICIPATED IN 3Y CUR SCHOOL CHILDREN, CITY OFFICIALS AND GARDEN CLUB MEMBERS. TREES WERE PLANTED AT JUNIOR AND SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS - THE CITY PUBLIC LI HR AST -OUR LADY OF THE GULF SCHOOL AND CM CITY PLAYGROUNDS. MANY TREES, PLANTS AND SHRUBS WERE PLANTED AT OUR GARDEN CENTER, TO PARTIALLY REPLACE THE LANDSCAPING, WHICH WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED, AND HAD ^O BE STARTED ALL OVER AGAIN. LOCAL BUSINESS FIRMS, ORGANIZATIONS, INDIVIDUALS AND THE BAY-WAVELAND GARDEN CLUB FINANCED THIS PROGRAM, THROUGH THE EFFORTS OP THE HANDS COMMITTEE. WHAT A WONDERFUL CIVIC PROGRAMi
ONE HUNDRED MEMBERS AND THEIR GUESTS ATTENDED HUR HAT HHOW AND CATERED LUNCHEON, HELD IN NOVEMBER AT THE A HE, RICAN USGIOK CLUB HOUSE. THE HATS KAEE AND MODELED M OUR MEMBERS,DEPICTING AN INTERNATIONAL THEtffi, WERE COLORFUL, ATTRACTIVE AND UNUSUAL - AGAIN DISPLAYING THE TALENTS AND CREATIVITY OP OUR MEMBERS. THIS WAS A MOST ENJOYABLE AND OUTSTANDING EVENT. MANY TK*KKS TO OUR CHAIRMAN AND ALL WHO WORKFDOON THIS PROJECT.
OUR MfWTHLY MEETINGS HAVE BEEN HIGHLIGHTED BY PROGRAMS GIV-N BY INTERESTING AND INFORMATIVE SPEAKER3, WHO ARE ALL EXPERTS IN THEIR FIELD. SOW WERE MEMBERS OF CUR CLUB, AND OTHERS CAME TO US FROM THE SURROUNDING AREA. TO ALL OF THEM WE OWE OUR THANKS FOR THEIR Til'S AND KF70RT, AND 'DR THE CONTRIBUTION THEY GAVE TO TOTS PORTION OF OUR MEETINGS.
