Again, I have never seen the original marriage or baptismal books at St. Paul. All that I or the public is allowed to see is the translated baptisms compiled into one volume as Book A with original page and act numbers. Although I recognize and know that many, many baptisms are of blacks, the only time a distinction is made is in the baptism of slaves. Jtidging from the practice followed with early marriages and baptisms records at OLG at ByStL., I would have thought that the same initial priest in 1847, Stanislaus Buteau, would have followed at St. Paul. Again, I know that a Chapel was maintained at Pass Christian, Biloxi and Ocean Springs (Father Ron was at D'Iberville in 1969) and ask him if they had records prior to 1847?) prior to 1847 -where are these records.
