The victory of the "FOLLY" over the "ADRIENNE" was one of the surprises of the day. The conditions were of such a character as to give both boats a fine chance, and the "FOLLY" won fairly and squarely on her merits. "FLORENCE", "HATTIE" and "LADY LUCKETT" all made brilliant showings. Mr. Thomas Richardson was congratulated on all sides for the brilliant success of the regatta, whose management was resting on his shoulders.

Waveland Yacht Club- YACHT CLUB - ONE TO BE LOCATED AT WAVELAND, MISS. The Times-Democrat says: The annual regatta which took place at Waveland a few days ago, and proved so successful and enjoyable, has been the subject of discussion among yachtsmen ever since, and that discussion has culminated in a scheme that will be hailed with delight by all interested in yachting along the coast. The matter has been taken in charge by prominent yachtsmen in the city, and is a movement to organize a club in Waveland, build a handsome clubhouse, and give, besides their regular annual regatta, like affairs during the year. The idea has met with a ready response from all the people of Waveland, and those who are in the habit of visiting there during the summer, to say nothing of the many people of New Orleans who are interested in yachting. The popularity of the Waveland course is demonstrated annually by the large number of entries in the races, nearly every point along the coast being represented in the regatta. The interest in the regatta, too, is shown by the thousands who attend the event every year. At the last regatta, several days ago, the seashore was lined with people, the windows and doors of the houses along the coast were crowded with eager spectators, and in the waters of the sound were hundreds of boats, occupied by persons who had come to witness the race. Each year sees the interest in these regattas increase, and the gentlemen who have the matter of erecting a clubhouse in charge have come to the conclusion that the interest demands it.
