Ladner, Vernon L. - May 28, 1999
Vernon LeVerl Ladner, 72,a resident of Waveland and native of Bayou LaCroix community, died Friday, May 28, 1999 in Slidell.
Mr. Ladner was born May 5, 1927 in Bayou La Croix. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints. He was a carpenter, a sawmill owner-operator, owner of Buildex Construction Company and had built many homes, churches and other buildings along rhe Gulf Coast.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Laura A. Wainwright Ladner; a son, Steven LeVerl Ladner; a daughter, Laura Ann Ladner; two brothers, Ervin and Chester Ladner and a sister, Helen Ladner.
Survivors include his wife, E. Elaine Evans Ladner of Waveland; three sons, Douglas Vernon Ladner of Bay St. Louis, Vernon LeVerl and Bradley Chritian Ladner, both of Waveland; four daughters, Sandra Jean Rhodes of Waveland,, DarleneElizabeth Erwin of LaPlace, La., Lauren Paige and Ashley Chritine Ladner, both of Waveland; three stepsons, A Donith Johnson of Petal, Ross E. Johnson and Seth David Johnson, both of Waveland; six stepdaughters, L. Michele Lacour of Fairhope, Ala, E. Ellison Johnson of Hattiesburg, M. B. McCardle and E. Elizabeth Johnson , both of Waveland; three sisters, Erma L. Pecoul of Metairie, Bertha M. Homer of Kiln and Norman Jean Garriga of Waveland; 16 grandchildren, thre great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Sunday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Waveland. Services were conducted Monday t the church. Burial was in Bayou LaCroix Cemetery in Hancock County.
Riemann Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis was in charge of arrangements.
