Bailey, Prof., was chosen as one of the judges at the Harrison County oratorical contest.  He was also requested to select another judge.  Dr. E.W. Bird Cage Cottage -502 S. Beach)  One of the most delightful hops of the past week was that given on Tuesday night at the Bird Cage Cottage, the delightful and home-like home of those kind and well-liked people, Mr. and Mrs. Bajurin.  The occasion was the birthday of Mr. James Stevenson, of New Orleans and who is a guest of the Bird Cage.  A string band furnished good music and dancing was indulged in until midnight when all departed with a hearty "good-night" and expressed themselves of having enjoyed themselves immensely.  (SCE 8/20/1892)

 

Bajurin, Mr. and Mrs. entertained a number of their friends at a dining.  The occasion was Mrs. Bajurin's birthday.  An enjoyable day was spent by all present, in fact, they could not have enjoyed no other time than a good time since it was at the hospitable home of the Bajurin's "Bird Cage" cottage. Baldenhofer, Carl r Washington Rd. (Ph 50, 55)

 

Carl Baldenhofer (died in May, 1996, obit not published by direction of his son, I am told, CHG)

 

Carl Baldenhofer died July 11, 1996 in Bay St. Louis.

 

Family and friends attended Lutheran Church of the Pines on Highway 90 in Waveland for the service on what would have been Baldenhofer's 90th birthday.  Baldenhofer had been a member of the church for about a year before his death.

 

Baldenhofer was a charter member of the Hancock County RSVP, and taught art to people of all ages.  He held art classes at the Waveland Civic Center and the senior citizens center.

 

A  former soft drink bottler, Baldenhofer began painting in the early 1940's.  He later took art classes after moving to the Gulf Coast.  Rev. Vernon R. Knight officiated at the memorial service. (From the Sea Coast Echo in late 1996)

  Know all men by these present that I, David G. Baldwin, county of El Paso, & State of Texas - 1st that all my just debts be paid -  2nd I give and bequeath to each of my children - Cuthbert  (sp) S. Baldwin, David G. Baldwin, Jr., (sp) J. Baldwin and Mathilde M. Baldwin the sum of ($1,000) each.  Said money to be paid to said children as they severally become of age.  2. 93 -  3rd I give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my estate - personal and mixed to my beloved wife Mathilde Texas Baldwin wherever situated. -  4th I hereby appoint my beloved wife Mathilde Texas Baldwin and Gustave B. Baldwin executor and executrix of my last will  and testament, and that no bond or security be required. -  5th It is my will that no other action shall be had in the County Court in the administration of my estate to prove and record this will and to return all inventory and appraisement of my estate and list of claims.

In the matter of estate of David Baldwin, deceased, July term AO1912.  Came to be heard The Application of Mathilde Texas Baldwin, and Gustave Baldwin for the probate and Last Will and Testament of David Baldwin, deceased, dated January 13, 1911.  Now produced in court on the evidence a statement of which is filed in this cause being heard and fully considered by the court, and it appearing to the court that citation there has been duly made as required by law, to which no objection has been made, and the said Mathilde T. Baldwin and Gustave B. Baldwin are named and appointed.  It is therefore ordered that the last will and testament of said David G. Baldwin, deceased, is hereby admitted to probate.  1st day of July 1912,  M Book 5 - 580-1
