Whitfield, Rufus M. Sr. - July 11, 1959
Rufus M. Whitfield Sr., 54, died at 4 a.m. today at his residence, 525 Canty St., Pascagoula.
Mr. Whitfield operated a trailer park and had resided in Pascagoula for 34 years. He was a native of the Kiln community in Hancock County.
The body will be at Fails Funeral Home in Pascagoula at 4 p.m. today. Rosary will be said by Father Quinn at 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday from the Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Pascagoula with Father Quinn officiating. Interment will be in Crestlawn Gardens near Ocean Springs.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gladys Whitfield of Pascagoula; three daughters, Mrs. A. J. Irvin, San Diego, Cal.; Mrs. R. W. Chambers, Pascagoula; Sister Rebecca of Lafayette, La,; two sons, Rufus M. Jr. of Foley, Ala., and E. Dan Whitfield II, Pascagoula; his father, E. Dan Whitfield of Pascagoula; one sister, Mrs. M. J. Dodd, Jackson; and ten grandchildren.
