Perkins, Rufus Terrell  -  February 9, 1969

Rufus Terrell Perkins, 70, died at 7:05 p.m. Sunday at the Biloxi Veterans Administration Hospital.

Mr. Perkins, a retired real estate broker, and a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church, served with the U.S. Army during World War I.

He was born June 5, 1898, in Broxton, Ga., son of the late Rufus Randolph and Tempie Lott Perkins. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Vivian Egloff Perkins, Bay St. Louis; three daughters, Mrs. Oscar James McMillan, New Orleans; Misses Mary Margaret and Jane Ann Perkins, Bay St. Louis; and two sisters, Misses Mary and Gertrude Perkins, both of Bay St. Louis.

Funeral services were held from Riemanns' Fahey-Whitfield Funeral Home chapel Tuesday morning followed by religious rites at Main Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bernard Walton, pastor, officiating. Interment was in Garden of Memory Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Mike McGinity, John Egloff, Jim McDonald, John Glover, Lucien Gex, Jr., and Billy Burrows.

Honorary pallbearers were Norman Renshaw, Patrick McGinity, Norman Benigno, John McDonald, Charles Breath, Jr., Thomas Egloff, Paul Egloff, Richard Matheny, C.C McDonald, Sr., Lucien Gex, Sr., Henry Monti, Jr., and Cyril Glover.
