Nicaise, Amelia K.  -  March 18, 1937

Following a short illness, Mrs. Amelia Nicaise, residing at 342 Main street, passed away at her home Thursday morning of this week at 10 minutes to two o'clock, surrounded by loved ones.

The deceased was a native of New Orleans, a resident of Bay St. Louis for the past 45 years and was 69 years old at the time of her passing. She was a devout member of the Catholic faith and prior to her death her spirit was fortified with the last sacraments and consolation of her faith.

She is survived by her husband, Hermogene H. Nicaise, and one daughter, Mrs. Clarence Kranz, residing at Long Beach, Miss., and two granddaughters. Also two sisters, Mrs. S. Kaye, of New York City, and Mrs. Helen Holderman, New Orleans. And one brother, Sol Kenofskey, of New Orleans. Funeral will take place this Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock from the late residence in Main street, interment at St. Mary's Catholic cemetery.

Residing with Mrs. Nicaise at the family home, were her sisters-in-law, to whom she was devoted and they in turn equally endeared to her, and it is with deep sorrow her passing is noted.

Mrs. Nicaise only last week sustained a severe shock when a brother and his wife, residing in New Orleans, died a few days apart. Later she underwent an operation for bone trouble in a foot and victim of heart ailment her condition grew worse and it was soon apparent the end was not far off. A woman of splendid Christian attainment and accomplishment she died in the arms of her Redeemer and another soul has gone to its reward.
