Strong, Amanda Seube - September 10, 1974
Mrs. Amanda Seube Strong, 97, life-long resident of Bay St. Louis, died at 3 a.m. Tuesday, September 10, at Hancock General Hospital. She was born January 16, 1877, in Bay St. Louis and was a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church.
Survivors include five sons, E.C. Strong, Bay St. Louis; Charles Strong, Monroe, La., L.J. Strong, Columbus, Miss.; Roy Strong, Lafayette, La.; and J. C. Strong, Tampa, Fla.; three daughters, Mrs. Marie Smith, West Palm Beach, Fla.; Mrs. Thelma Hagan, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs. W. A. (Yvonne) Scarborough, Bay St. Louis; a sister, Mrs. Meline Combell, New Orleans; 125 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
A prayer service was held at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at Riemann-Fahey Funeral Home Chapel followed by a Requiem Mass at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
