Fernandez, Shirley Mae - June 21, 2000
Shirley Mae Stevens Fernandez, 75, died Wednesday, June 21, 2000.
Mrs. Fernandez was a resident of Chalmette, LA, for 36 years and a resident of Bay St. Louis for the past 12 years.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 139 in Bay St. Louis and was affiliated with Pack 236 of Boy Scouts of America Troup 78 and Explorer Post 78 of Chalmette.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Guerrera and Frank Stevens; and a brother, Michel Stevens.
Survivors include her husband, Julio Fernandez Jr; five daughters, Sandra Lopez, Julia Ward, Jennifer Moss, Janet Ward and Bernadette Bode; a son, Julio Fernandez III; a sister, Bernadette Berger; 20 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.A service will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 701 West Virtue St., Chalmette where friends may call one hour before service time. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
The family prefers memorials to the American Cancer Society.
