Shaffer, Hugh Eugene - September 22, 2000
Hugh Eugene Shaffer, 85, of Diamondhead, died Friday, September 22, 2000, in Lyman.
Mr. Shaffer was a native of Dodsonville, OH, and a resident of Diamondhead for the past nine years. He was of the Episcopal faith and was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Diamondhead. He was a Master Mason, and a member of the Elks in Hillsboro, Ohio. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Thomas and Ruth Henderson Shafer; and a brother, Phillip Shaffer.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Shaffer of Diamondhead; a son, David Milner Shaffer of Aberdeen, Scotland; a daughter, Dianne Shaffer Lambert of Wheaton, IL; a brother, Vernon R. Shaffer of Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister, Joanna Shaffer Morris of Hamilton, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Elizabeth Shaffer Lambert of Hong Kong, A. Nelson Shaffer of Dallas, TX, and Ashley Shaffer Hymel of Slidell, LA.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 1, 2000, at 2 p.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Diamondhead. Interment will be held at a later date. Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis is in charge of arrangements.
