Byrd, Rayford A. - October 8, 2000
Mr. Rayford A. "Johnny" Byrd, 68, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, in Saucier.
Mr. Byrd was a native of Seminary and had been a resident of Saucier for 18 years. He was an Army veteran and was employed as a front desk clerk for Treasure Bay Casino in Biloxi. He was a member of Union Baptist Church in Seminary.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elvin Byrd; his mother, Onie Campbell, and a brother, Emmet Byrd.
Survivors include his wife, Caroline Byrd of Saucier; a son, Bryant Keys of Waveland; a sister, Sue Moulds of Hattiesburg; his stepmother, Etta Byrd of Hattiesburg, and two grandchildren.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, U.S. 49 North, Gulfport. A service will be at 2 p.m. today at Union Baptist Church in Seminary with burial in the church cemetery.
